Therefore, almost every term of Urokodaki Sakonji's apprentice will be killed by hand ghosts, so here comes the problem. Since wearing a mask, it will be targeted by hand ghosts.
So why continue to give masks to children?
As many as dozens of disciples were killed by hand ghosts, and even Sabito and Makomo were killed because of it. Urokodaki Sakonji is also very sad for this, so why wear masks for later disciples?
He knew full well that what he called the "mask of elimination" would only attract powerful ghosts, so why did he put the carefully nurtured children in danger?

Urokodaki Sakonji's approach was risky, but he didn't mean to harm his disciples. The reason why he had set so many traps, carried out such harsh practice, and even asked Tanjiro to split the boulder with a knife was to prepare for the fight with the hand ghost in the future. If Tanjiro could not split the boulder, it would also be impossible to split the hand ghost's neck, and the Master would not let Tanjiro participate in the audition, let alone give him a fox mask.
Since we want to join the ghost killing team, in addition to rigorous training, we should also be aware of dying at any time in the face of a strong enemy. It is not master's ruthlessness, but the path chosen by these children such as Tanjiro. If Urokodaki Sakonji protects them, then when they join the ghost killing team in the future, they have no choice but to die when they face a really powerful enemy.
